Bournemouth Ki Aikido Club
The BKAA:
The British Ki Aikido Association (BKAA) is a non profit making organisation that formed in 1988 when several senior Aikido practioners united in their recognition of Sensei David Currie as their Chief Instructor.
The BKAA is independent of other Aikido bodies and operates its own Grading Scheme, which is recognised by the Amateur Martial Associations (AMA).
BKAA Membership:
Membership of the BKAA is a requirement for attending classes beyond an initial 6 week trial period, for grading purposes and for attending BKAA Seminars. The latter are held bi-annually (April & December) and provide an opportunity for members of all grades to participate in general practice sessions under the personal direction of the Chief Instructor, to watch/ take part in Gradings and, of course, to socialise!
BKAA members can also practice at other BKAA Clubs without having to first complete the beginners course.
Membership fee:
Adult (waged): £28 per annum
Adult (unwaged): £20 per annum
(A £2 reduction is applied if the fee is paid by Direct Debit.)
N.B. £8 of the annual fee goes towards personal injury insurance - arranged by the BKAA through the AMA.
